How Parking Lifts Work
Parking lifts create additional storage by stacking vehicles. A hydraulic cylinder does the heavy lifting and is powered by an electric motor. The force provided by the motor is multiplied when the fluid inside the hydraulic moves from a small diameter cylinder to a large diameter. As the vehicle rises, lock mechanisms secure the progress.
When lowering the vehicle, the ground floor is cleared, the top level is raised slightly before the lock mechanism is disengaged and the platform is slowly lowered by the hydraulic.
